About Me

Darla K. Landers is a mother, teacher, writer, reader, journalist, gardener, animal lover, and spiritual seeker who started writing her first novel at the age of 50 to begin healing from her traumatic childhood. When her first novel Living in a Dark House was about to debut, she was once again drawn into threats and trauma. To curtail the upheaval, she abruptly stopped publication of that novel in 2018, went under a pen name, and continued her writing journey with Toward Bright Stars—proving to herself and these naysayers that she is indeed a gifted writer with important messages, stories, and visions for paths to healing.

Landers grew up in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from Norton High School, the University of Akron (BA and teaching license), and Kent State University (MA journalism). She has worked in fast food, as a waitress, bartender, salesclerk, journalist, and teacher.

She is married to her husband, an attorney, and has raised two adored daughters who are also strong women. She lives with an array of pets, flowers, books, and supportive surrounding friends in Northeastern Ohio. She also enjoys bicycling and traveling to historic places.
